Willowdale  is one of the city’s most ethnically-diverse neighbourhoods, with a population that consists of 67 per cent “visible” minorities and large Chinese, Persian, Korean and Russian communities.

" In Ward 18, Willowdale, home to 118,801 residents, hyperdevelopment was a major theme in the election; voters are frustrated by overcrowding on the Yonge subway line and the aggressive condo development straining infrastructure and services."

Willowdale (electoral district)

Willowdale consisted initially of the part of the Borough of North York bounded on the north by the borough limit (Steeles Avenue), on the West by the West Branch of the Don River and Bathurst Street, on the south by Highway 401, and on the east by Bayview Avenue.
