Promoting
participation doesn't start nor end with an election.
But the election time is a favourable period for
encouraging those ready to enter the scene of social
activities.
We have the
privilege of having two strong candidates in the current
municipal election, which will involve many people. We
may take advantage of this particular situation to
campaign for democracy.
We may go door to
door, postering, participating in candidate debates, and
bringing up matters focusing on democracy. We may have
our flyers promoting all candidates and signs promoting
our goals. We may share their information on social
media in our network.
Overall we can
change the regular election atmosphere, which has not
always been pleasant. We can bring a new dynamism, which
may change people's image of elections.
No matter how
promising it looks, we need many passionate, visionary,
and dedicated volunteers who see beyond the expected
results of an election.
